"In front of us the great dance group emerged. Everything in the show was related to the title - Chorus. We were watching the choir, that was in front of us breaking it up for two - in the first step and in to the individual pieces - in the next step. The movable material, broken with the movable neurodynamic moment, was deriving from narrative, everyday movements. Individual or duet components was never at the forefront, but always present. In the foreground it was always a choir! "
Dragan Živadinov, performer & theatre director
"New generations are sensing new time forces and opening up new artistic horizons. In the dance spheres is this seen as new flexibility and new exploration of body motion channels. And all that is the performance Chorus, a new music-dance footprint of the generation, filled with a new freshness of creative inspiration. "
Daliborka Podboj, Dance Critic
Dance is a mode of transgressing the existent. Dance frees man from his political dimension.
Movement connects our bodies, making dance the most elementary political gesture, which at the same time escapes politics. And yet, it is not about the body. It is about an absence.
Dance is always located in between – just as the community. It has no proper position, it is a gift we receive without receiving, a gift we give without giving. We can exist together only in between. In the empty spaces, black holes, our constant misunderstandings, which constitute a reality.
We are one only through a difference.
Traditionally, the chorus explained to the community of viewers issues which have escaped their understanding, mitigating the cruelty of the story. Its function was rhetorical and informational.
Our chorus keeps silent. There are all too many issues to address them. The Chorus thus distances itself from the human affairs, it re-enters its pre-tragic form, to touch with the non-human, with the unspeakable matter, lacking the need to represent or communicate.
There is no biography. Someone was born, he lived, he died.
The rest is experience.
The rest is silence.
The hero must keep silent.
At the center point of existence, there remains
an Absence.
